Old Yale
Coffee Roasters

From a hillside farm to the mug in your hand. Here’s the whole journey.

Follow the bean
Chapter 1 · The farms

It starts on farms we actually know.

We buy from small growers in Peru, Ethiopia and Colombia, paying well above market price. Every bag tells you whose farm it came from.

Chapter 2 · The beans arrive

Green beans land in Abbotsford.

Raw coffee is green and smells like fresh grass. We taste every lot before we buy it, and only the best make the cut.

Chapter 3 · The roast

Small batches, roasted by ear.

Our 12-kilo drum roaster lets us listen for the “first crack” and pull each batch at just the right moment. Never burnt, never bitter.

Chapter 4 · The cupping

Then we slurp. Loudly.

Every roast is “cupped” the next morning: sniffed, slurped and scored. If it isn’t delicious, it doesn’t go in a bag.

Chapter 5 · The café

Finally, it’s your cup.

Pull up a stool at the roastery café on Old Yale Road. You can watch the roaster spin while you sip.
